If you’ve been following the latest Korean Drama series, I think you’ll agree that there are quite a few dramas that are worth watching this season. In this post, I’ve put together a list of the most popular k-dramas including both completed and currently airing ones. I’ve also included a link where you can watch them free online. So  if you’re looking for some nice, new dramas to watch, don’t miss out! Also, if your pick is not on my list, do let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!

Top 10 Korean Dramas 2016 (August – October)

Note:The list is in no particular order. To me, they are all amazing dramas that I can watch again and again!

1.Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (watch full episodes here )


Genre: historical, fiction, drama, romance

This drama is definitely one of the best in 2016… I highly recommend it to anyone!

The story is based on the Chinese drama ” striking at every step .” During a solar eclipse, Guo Jin Ha ( Aya ), an ordinary girl of the 21st century, is transferred to the Goryeo era in the body of the girl Hae Soo. It creates numerous adventures and, of course, a lot of romance.

2.Love In the Moonlight (watch here)


This drama is a romantic love story about a man and a woman from different backgrounds. Lee Young is the Crown Prince of Joseon Dynasty who likes to break away from his routine life in the palace. Hong Ra On comes from a very poor family that she has to disguise herself as a man to make a living. One day, the moneylenders sell Ra On to the Office of Eunuch Attendants to get back their money. Ra On and Young keep running into each other as she starts to work as a eunuch. (source:dramafire)

3.K2 (watch here)


Genre:thriller, drama, politics

This drama is about the story of the bodyguard of the presidential candidate’s wife, who is known as K2. He falls in love with the secret daughter of the presidential candidate suffering Anthropophobia (panic disorder, fear of people) .

4. Jealousy Incarnate (watch here)


romance, comedy

Pyo Na Ri is a weather forecaster from a humble background. She secures a part-time contract to work at a prestigious broadcast network but soon realizes that petty jealousy and cutthroat competition surrounds her every day at work. Her life becomes even more complicated when Na Ri falls in love with the station’s star news anchor, Lee Hwa Shin, but Hwa Shin’s best friend, Go Jung Won, falls for her. Can Na Ri get what she wants both at work and in her personal life?

5.Fantastic (watch here)

The drama tells the romance story between So-Hye and Hae-Sung. So-Hye is a popular TV drama series writer, but she has only 6 months left to live. Hae-Sung is a poplar actor, but he is not good at acting. How will the story unfold…?

6.Drinking Solo (watch here)


Genre:romance, drama, comedy

Background of the drama is set around a private institute for people preparing for their civil service examinations in Noryangjin, Seoul, South Korea.
Story depicts people drinking alcohol alone for different reasons and the romance between Jung-Suk and Shin-Ib. Jung-Suk is an arrogant, but popular instructor and Shin-Ib is a rookie instructor. She struggles to survive in the private institute world.

7.One Percent of Something (watch here)


Genre:Romance, Comedy

Lee Jae-In is a handsome and smart man who comes from a wealthy family, but he is also arrogant. His grandfather forces Jae-In to  engage with a school teacher he has never met before. What will happen to them?

8.Woman With a Suitcase (watch here)



Cha Kum Ju (Choi Ji-woo) – a successful manager in a law office,  who gets arrested due to a violation of the law. After overcoming many obstacles, she eventually realizes it’s her dream to become a successful lawyer.
Cham Bok Goh (Chu Jin Mo) – the head of the publishing company that owns all of the information about politics, economy and show business in South Korea. He helps Cha Kum Ju achieve her dreams and falls in love with her.

9.On the Way to the Airport (watch here)



Choi Su A (Kim Ha-neul) works as a flight attendant for 12 years. She is married to a pilot, and they have a twelve-year-daughter. Choi Su is very content with her life, but one day she meets to y (Lee Sang Eun) and her life changed.
He is a kind person and already has a wife and daughter, but one day a terrible accident happens. As a result, he loses his memory and Choi Su A becomes part of his life.

10.Shopaholic Louis (watch here)


Genre:romance, comedy, romance

Kang Ji San (or as he is called, Louis) was born in a wealthy family, but lost his parents early in life. For a long time he lives abroad. All he does is shop until his grandmother falls seriously ill. After returning to Korea, he loses his memory due to an accident. The only person he can rely on is a country girl named Bok Sil.
